Privacy Policy

Overview

Table to Excel, CSV — For Professionals is designed with privacy in mind. The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. All processing happens locally in your browser on the pages you choose to use it.

What the Extension Does

• Detects tables on webpages you visit so you can export them to Excel
• Lets you export all tables or only the ones you select, in single or multi-worksheet mode
• Provides optional on-page overlay buttons to streamline actions (which you can hide at any time)

Data Collection

The extension does NOT collect or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identifiers (name, email, address, phone)
• Browsing history, search queries, or page content for analytics
• Form inputs, credentials, or payment information
• Telemetry or usage analytics

Data Processing

All table detection and Excel generation occur locally within your browser. No data leaves your device and no remote servers are contacted during export.

Storage and Retention

• The extension stores only user preferences (e.g., autoScanEnabled, uiEnabled, selectionEnabled, notification preference, and selected export mode) so your settings persist across sessions
• Preferences are saved using chrome.storage.sync (synchronized with your Chrome profile) or local storage in preview/testing environments
• No page content, table data, or personal information is stored
• You can reset or remove these preferences at any time by uninstalling the extension or by clearing extension data in Chrome's settings

Permissions and Rationale

• activeTab: Needed to interact with the currently active page (scan for tables, overlay non-invasive UI, and perform exports upon your request). It does not read or store your browsing history.
• storage: Needed to save your preferences so the extension behaves consistently according to your choices.
• Host permissions: Required to detect tables and render the overlay on the pages where you use the extension. Access is limited to reading the DOM and positioning small UI elements; the extension does not exfiltrate data.

Cookies and Trackers

The extension does not set or read cookies for tracking. It does not include trackers or analytics scripts.

Third-Party Services

The extension does not send data to third-party services. The Excel library bundled with the extension is shipped locally and runs entirely in your browser; no remote code is fetched at runtime.

Children's Privacy

The extension is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

International Data Transfers

No data is transmitted or transferred outside your device; there are no international transfers.

Security

The extension uses Chrome's standard extension sandboxing and follows best practices to minimize access and storage. While no online transmission occurs, please note that no local software can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, updates will be published in the Chrome Web Store listing and/or the project repository. Your continued use after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
